ERO Report

Term 2 2018

Kia ora whanau

We are happy to share with you the final report from the Education Review Office.

The report outlines some of the great things that are in place at Reporoa Primary to ensure it is a fantastic place for learning, and our next steps to ensure we continue our pathway of improvement. Change doesn’t happen quickly, and we thank our community for supporting us in the many positive and necessary changes over the past few years.

One area the board would like to provide some information around is the statement about declining data. Since 2016 the staff have been working on the accuracy of the data that has been reported and now back their OTJ’s with moderated evidence. Because of this, our overall data tracked down, however it is much more focussed and honest.

Another statement in the review mentions that less Maori students achieved accelerated progress in reading between 2016 and 2017. We would like to point out that this refers to one student less. The report also fails to highlight that 4 more Maori students achieved accelerated progress in mathematics during this timeframe.

The report confirms that the school is on a 3 year ERO review cycle.
