Korero from the Principal:

Kia ora e te whanau.

This term has been amazing for me because today I am Principal for the first time because I spun Principal for the Day on the ‘Gotcha’ wheel.

So far I have walked through the classes to see what everybody has been doing, I checked that some berries on a tree were safe and not poisonous, wrote a news post for the teachers, put some posters up, and laminated a few staff Pepeha. I still have 6 things to do which isn’t a problem for me.

Year 3 and 4 Amazing Race:

Today our awesome year 3 and 4 students went on an amazing race around the village. They then worked in teams to create some Mindcraft wearable art. This was day 1 of their activity week. Tomorrow they are heading into Taupo for some more fun!

Waharoa:

Last week some of our Te Ara Whakamana roopu were privileged to travel to Rotorua for a sneak preview of our Waharoa and a korero with the carvers about its meaning. Nga mihi to Conrad and Wiremu for your awesome mahi. The boys are very keen to become carvers now!
No close ups…it’s looking amazing already but we are keeping the details a surprise!

Star of the week:

Ka rawe te mahi Ted for his awesome mahi in writing last week. What super progress Ted!

Congratulations to Serah who received our prestigious Martelli Cup for general achievement award. She won’t be at our year 6 graduation so we presented it this week. Serah also got to go out for lunch with the principal today as she is a Rangitira.

Sports:Sports-1

What an awesome day at Reporoa College for cluster athletics. Well done to all our tamariki who showed sportsmanship, determination and grit. Thank you to our whanau for their awhi. It was greatly appreciated and we could not have done it without you.

We had a very successful time over here with 12 students ( 9 years old and up) heading off the CBOP (Central Bay of Plenty) with their 1st or 2nd placing in the respective event. Please check your Hero inbox for information.

A special mention to Maia Tauariki who broke the 10 year old girl cluster record for high jump, jumping 1.15m.

Maia Thomas who broke the 10 year old girl cluster record for 100m sprints, running 15.47seconds.

Johnny Wills who broke 2 cluster records for the 8 year old boys. High jump 1.10m and Discuss 20.22m
