Nga mihi nui ki a koutou katoa – warm greetings to everyone

Kia ora, Nameste, Talofa, Konnichiwa, Guten Tag , Gidday, Vannakkam, ni Hao, Kia orana, Hola, Salam, Sa wat dee kha, Dia Dhuit, Goeie Dag, Bonjour, Hello, (please let us know the greeting in your language if it is not here)

Korero from the Acting Principal:

Kia ora koutou,

Richelle flew out yesterday to Canada for her Principal exchange with Louise. We wish her all the best for her time over there and look forward to seeing some photos soon and hearing about her leadership exchange when she gets back. What an awesome experience for her!

It has been a great week at school with engaged learning and focused students throughout the school. It has been pleasing to see classes talk about their learning and have a discussion about what they are learning about. I am enjoying walking around the classes and seeing some amazing mahi that our teachers work hard to plan and prepare for.

As you will have noticed we have a brand new fence and this is open to our community in the weekends if students want to come in and play. We would appreciate if you could please have a chat to your children about keeping the school grounds tidy as Matua Stephen has been having to clean it up on Monday. If it becomes a further issue we will have to lock it over the weekends. Please use the front gate by the bus bay.

It is nearing the end of term and our tamariki are getting a bit tired so the Easter break should give the students a wee break to get them to the end of the term 🙂 Enjoy the time together as a family, be safe over the short break and eat the chocolate!

ngā mihi,

Nikkole Fell

Stars of the week:

Ka rawe te mahi Lisa, Stanley and Frank

I was very lucky to be sent not 1 but 3 awesome students from Whaea Pip and Gemma’s class this week. I was blown away with their imagination and their descriptive writing. They have consistent capital letters and fulls stops through out their writing. Well done!!

Easter Holiday:

Just in case you aren’t aware, Easter Tuesday is a school holiday and schools in New Zealand are closed.
The Tuesday following Easter Monday is a school holiday (but not a statutory holiday), meaning schools must not be open.
(School closed this Friday, next week Monday and Tuesday)

Winter Football

After expressions of interest. See the information below and get back to me if your child is interested. We do not have to have enough to make a team, which is choice, it means our tamariki won’t miss out if soccer is something they want to do this winter.

The winter football season is a Saturday morning competition designed to be fun for players at all levels from age 4 to 15. Depending on the teams who enter the competition, games may be played in Taupō, Turangi, Reporoa or Marotiri.

Players must register by Monday 01 April 2024 to ensure a spot in one of our teams.

Teams are created by the committee, with the intention of mixing players of different abilities and experience to encourage an even competition over the season. Players play at their age level based on the year of birth. Teams are mixed boys and girls.

Players will be notified of their team & coach before the start of the season.  Coaches are typically parents / caregivers, and we are often short of coaches.  If you would like to find out more about coaching, please email [email protected].  Coaches will generally hold one practice a week, at a time & day determined by the coach.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries or suggestions.
